Alexandra M. Zega, DMD

Dr. Alex Zega is thrilled to be coming home to Montgomery County to join Commonwealth Oral Surgery. She has spent the last four years in New York training at Montefiore Medical Center in comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgery, including pediatric oral surgery, extractions, pathology, facial trauma, anesthesia/sedation, and implant and bone-grafting procedures. Montefiore has a nationwide reputation for excellence in dentoalveolar surgery, especially implants.

Dr. Zega holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in biology from Brown University. She studied implant infection prevention for her honors thesis. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with honors in oral surgery, community service and research and was inducted into the national dental honors society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.

Dr. Zega has completed research on Botox treatment of facial muscles and infection prevention on implants. She has presented at multiple conferences on topics including the treatment of benign recurrent pathology. Dr. Zega is committed to the highest standards of quality surgical care, with an emphasis on comfort, attention to detail, and safety. She is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Dental Association. She is a candidate for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Zega lives in Ambler with her golden retriever, Willa. In her free time, she enjoys traveling (51 countries and counting!), trying new restaurants, cooking, and reading. She is excited to be back in Montgomery County and join the Commonwealth team.
