TM Disorder

TMJ DisorderTM Disorders encompass arthritic conditions of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and disorders of the jaw muscles. Frequent signs and symptoms include: restricted motion of the jaw joints; painful clicking, popping or locking of the jaw; pain when chewing; headaches; facial pain radiating to other regions of the head and neck.

The management of TM Disorders is usually nonsurgical and involves the use of medications, physical therapy and dental appliances. In a few select cases surgery of the temporomandibular joint may be indicated.
